Where Can You Find Mufflers?

Cars

Mufflers are usually placed lengthwise underneath. In this position it can blow backwards at the rear. Also, mufflers can be found in the sides before the rear wheels.

Trucks

For large diesel-powered trucks, mufflers are vertically escalated at the back of the cab. Sometimes, trucks are designed to have mufflers diagonally under the front of the cab so that it can blow sideways.

Motorcycles

Typically, mufflers are located alongside the engine and rear wheel so that it can blow backwards. For contemporary motorcycles, mufflers are under the seat where it can blow backwards. A muffler in this position is called under-slung.
